Medieval II: Total War is Real-time tactics and Turn-based strategy video game developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega.It was released on 10 November 2006.it's still one of the best strategy games I've ever played. The game starts in the dark ages and progresses through the Renaissance. I've successfully run the game in windowed mode by adding the line 'windowed = 1' to medieval2.preference.cfg. But the game (or Steam? I dunno) keeps removing that line, so every time I want to play windowed mode I need to edit that file again. Is there an easier way to run the game in windowed mode?

How can I disable the intro movies?

Using Windows Explorer, browse to Caesar IV's DataMovies folder. By default it's C:Program FilesSierraCaesar IVDataMovies. In that folder, there are 4 files starting with 'splash'. Rename, move or delete all of them to disable the intro movies when you start up the game. Excel.

One good way to deal with them is create a new folder named 'old', and moving the splash files to that folder.

Can I run the game in windowed mode?

Yes, but it's not supported by the developers and might give problems. Browse to the folder where you installed C4, which is C:Program FilesSierraCaesar IV by default. Open the CaesarIV.ini file in that folder with a text editor such as Notepad. Find the line that says 'Full Screen Mode 1'. Change the 1 to a 0, save the file and start the game.

Edge scrolling with the mouse is disabled when you're in windowed mode - you'll have to use the A(left), S(down), W(up), and D(right) keys to move around the screen.

So, I accidentally got suck in windowed mode and can't get out. I keep un-checking it and changing my resolution in options, but it always resets after I click ok. About the project

Europa Barbarorum II is a total conversion modification (mod). It covers roughly the same time period as the Imperial Campaign included with Rome: Total War, but made for use with Medieval 2 Total War: Kingdoms.
